Storytelling & Why It Matters
Storytelling is one of the oldest and most universal ways people connect. Before social media, television, or even books, people came together to share stories. They did this to entertain, teach, warn, heal, and understand each other better.
Real storytelling turns everyday moments into something deeply human. For example, a story about missing a train can reveal feelings of grief. A bad first date might become a story about loneliness, identity, or hope. By sharing stories, people often see themselves in experiences that are very different from their own.
Storytelling helps us feel empathy. It lets us look past labels, assumptions, and first impressions so we can see others as complete people. Today, when quick opinions and short attention spans are common, storytelling encourages us to slow down and listen.
Everyone has stories that matter. Often, people just need the right space, support, and a sense of safety to share them.
